Our Partnership: Las Olas × Waves of Healing

Together, creating access, safety, and healing for our community.
Las Olas Advocacy Services and Waves of Healing have come together with one shared goal: making trauma-informed mental health care accessible to youth and families who often go unseen, unheard, and unsupported.
Through this partnership:
Survivors receive therapy at NO cost.
Las Olas, our nonprofit dedicated to supporting survivors of sexual abuse, covers the full cost of therapy so families never have to choose between healing and financial survival.
Waves of Healing provides the clinical care.
Waves of Healing offers bilingual, culturally grounded, trauma-informed therapy, specializing in supporting immigrant families, teens, and youth in our community.
Together, we make sure that every survivor who reaches out receives:
-
Compassionate trauma therapy
-
Zero-cost access
-
Support for both youth and families
-
A safe space to process, grow, and rebuild
🫶 This partnership exists because healing shouldn’t depend on income.
It exists because our community deserves support that understands culture, language, and lived experience. And it exists because every young person deserves to feel safe and seen.
We’re proud of this work. And we're just getting started.
If someone you know needs support, they can reach out through Las Olas Advocacy Services or through Waves of Healing, and we will take care of the rest, con cariño, dignity, and respect.
Our therapy office:

Waves of Healing is located on the south side of Indianapolis inside United Methodist Church on Edgewood. Our space has a private entrance, a cozy therapy room, and a cafecito/snack station to help clients feel welcomed and at ease. This location allows us to serve youth and families in a quiet, accessible, and community-centered environment.
Clinician
Background:

Marisela Hernandez, LCSW
As a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my work is rooted in dignity, compassion, and the belief that healing should never be a privilege. I am committed to creating spaces where young people and families, especially those navigating immigration, cultural transitions, and trauma, feel seen, safe, and supported.
My approach blends clinical skill with genuine connection. I show up as a therapist who listens deeply, challenges gently, and honors the full complexity of each person’s story. I believe in meeting clients where they are, empowering them to build tools that last beyond our sessions, and walking alongside them through the hard moments with patience and hope.
I am especially passionate about serving communities that have historically been overlooked or underserved. Through Waves of Healing and my nonprofit, Las Olas Advocacy Services, I work to reduce barriers to care and ensure that cost, language, or documentation status never stand in the way of someone receiving trauma-informed support.
At the heart of my work is this simple truth: healing happens in relationships built on trust, safety, and authenticity. I am honored every time a young person or family allows me into their world, and I show up with the respect and dedication that their stories deserve.
